Corporate Social Responsibility at ACT Public Service

My employer always works to enhance the community and the environment to make it a better place to work, play and live.

The government's primary role is to provide for the community, which renders everything we do an act of social responsibility, albeit not in the same sense as in the private sector. Programs and staff dedicated to the public good and also supported by community engagement programs.

There is a movement to set up wellbeing programs for staff.

The ACTPS encourages volunteering, has a grants program, encourages sustainability and environmental initiatives.

Being local government, we have a responsibility to operate in a CSR manner. However, public monies are not always utilised as efficiently as possible.

Transitioning to electric vehicles for employees to use to get to meetings. Shower/change facilities available at several offices, as well as bike cages and lockers.

As a public service that's something the ACTPS commits to.

Difficult to say as a public sector employer everything is aimed at bettering the community.
